The K24 tends to burn oil, and likes to develop compression issues around 400-500k miles from what I’ve read. The J30 will generally not burn oil and keep running strong pretty much forever if well taken care of.

13 posts · Joined 2012. #9 · Oct 10, 2013. I usually get close to 30-31mpg in my 2012 2.4, but it's 99% all highway which gets me around 500ish a full tank. Now if i drove it like i stole it, the fuel rating drops to around 26-28mpg.
